The artshow image/carnage 2 featuring the recent works of Ajay Sekher and T Murali was held in Calicut Lalitkala Akademi Art Gallery from October 22 to 27, 2013. It was the second edition of the group exhibition of paintings that began in Kochi Durbar Hall Art Centre on 18 September 2013. Prof M K Sanu inaugurated the group show at Kochi. The second edition at Calicut was meaningful with the support of the people and the media. All the major dailies from Desabhimani to the Hindu wrote visual reviews and the visual media was also generous in their support.

The show depicts the visibility of violence and fascism in our society that are on the rise after the post Babri and post Mandal and post Gujrat era in India. Symbolic and material violence and its visual underpinnings are explored and critically represented in the works. Details and theme note can be seen in the previous report on the first edition at Kochi.

Friends and well wishers of Malabar were benevolent to come and cooperate with us in this art event of cultural resistance and articulation. Thanks to all friends and the media…
